PRESIDENT Uhuru’s tour in the US seems to have reaped us big in terms of strengthening our position as a superpower in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is after Kenya acquired 8 ASS550 Fennec Light Combat Helicopters.
Kenya has also ordered for a fleet of:-
McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle Jet Fighters and Boeing CH-47 Chinook Helicopters to be delivered early next year.
The F-15 jet Fighters will retire the already old F-5 jet fighters which have been in service for decades.
The Chinook Helicopters will be replacing the SA 330 Puma Helicopters that have for long been in use.
The modernization of Kenya's millitary airpower is seen to boost the war on terrorism and to assert Kenya's authority as a strong millitary power in the continent.
