Shocking details of the reasons that led CAF to take away the CHAN tournament from Kenya have emerged. In a confidential report from continental football body, CAF inspectors had given Kenya up to January 2018 to ensure completion of the stadiums earmarked to stage the African football competition. Indeed, construction of the stadiums has been ongoing as scheduled by the Kenya government.
However, query were raised on the possibility of the current political uncertainties and threats to violence being organized by Raila Odinga and NASA, jeopardizing both the readiness and preparedness of the country in organizing a successful tournament.
While mainstream media have dwelt on the stadiums, it is now evident that the political climate was the major factor that led to withdrawal of the tournament. This was confirmed by a statement from Nick Mwendwa, the Kenya football boss.
Raila Odinga, the opposition candidate has called for violent mass action from Tuesday, 26th September, to actualize his civilian coup hallucinations. Raila is not ready for the election that's to take place next month and he intends to use both demonstrations and possible constitutional crisis to achieve his objectives.
President Uhuru must not allow any political mayhem in this country and any available means must be deployed to contain Raila's demonic mission. This nation cannot be in political fracas, a situation that's already affecting Kenyans' lives and their economy.
Raila has no monopoly for demonstrations and I call all Kenyans of goodwill to come together and say no to the planned mayhem organized by the certified king of violence.
