The international community has commended IEBC for conducting a credible, transparent, free and fair election in Kenya. Speaking ahead of the announcement of the winner, all election observer organizations that have been monitoring the Kenyan election have given it a clean bill of health.
NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga is yet to accept President Uhuru's decisive victory . He cannot swallow the humiliation he has suffered at the ballot box.
However, with this development, he has no option but to concede. The people of Kenya have spoken and made their verdict, another term for President Uhuru Kenyatta. This decision must be respected.
Here are excerpts from statements by the international community:
1. Ghana Ex-President and Head, Commonwealth observer mission.
"There is no reason to doubt the commission's ability to deliver a "credible election. We believe that the election has been conducted in a transparent and credible manner and that Kenyans must be commended for that election,"
2. Ex SA President and AU observer Thabo Mbeki
"I am satisfied with the way the electoral commission has conducted itself".
3. John Kerry, former US Secretary of State and Carter Center's observer team.
"The integrity of the process is still intact".
4. Marietje Schaake, Head EU observer mission.
"Candidates and their supporters must accept that not winning is a natural part of democratic competition".
With these invigorating remarks by the international community, I am very certain that Raila will concede defeat. He has nowhere to go to market his divisive agenda. Take this to your nearest bank.
