Stop MPs from increasing their salaries

JUST before the indelible ink from the just concluded election disappears on our fingers, the newly election Members of Parliament led by Gladys Wanga and Gathoni Wa Muchomba are about to rape our intelligence by trying to intimidate and blackmail the Salary and Remuneration Commission (SRC)

It's a tragedy that the MPs elect are making their self interests their first agenda in the House and and throwing the people's problems at the periphery.

We're indeed seeing them unite as they are front their bellies a few days after dividing Kenyans along tribal and party lines. Who bewitched our elected leaders?

The SRC did job evaluation for members of Parliament and settled on the gazetted figures. SRC is a constitutional body mandated to ensure that both public and state officers are adequately remunerated and their remuneration is fair, just and in tandem with the work done.

It's like a tradition that every time newly elected legislators start to transact business, they first of all look at their bellies and stomachs, oblivious of the poverty, desperation and hopelessness of majority of their electorate.

Dear fellow Kenyans, if there is a time to unite across the political divide and reject these dishonorable leaders' greedy twerking, that time is now. We must stand up and halt their unholy expedition of robing our money in broad daylight. If there is a time that we ought to show the elected legislators that powers belong to us the people, that time is now. We must use all means necessary to stop them from burdening us with unbearable wage bills.

Let's straighten our backs up, for we're tired of shouldering greed of these politicians. Let's get together, and rise up to the occasion and tell them 'no it's no longer business as usual'. Let's straighten our backs up, for a man cannot ride on your back, unless it's bent!!
