Listen to the Evangelicals Too

WE the Evangelicals MUST also be listened in the proposed Githu Muigai laws that are intended to regulate religion.

Faith matters are complex dogmatic issues that if not carefully treaded on can disintegrate into dangerous political and sectarian conflict in a country. Romans failed to tame Christianity and it had no option but assimilate it, eventually adopting it into state religion during the times of  Emperor Theodosius I.

Recently, in Northern Ireland, the British government created the Sectarian conflict when it tried to stifle nationalists Catholics in favour of Protestants.

China, in the Xinjiang region has failed to legislate against  Uyghur muslim population, and Uyghurs have soldiered on with their faith despite the brutality meted on them by Beijing govt.

In short, faith matters are political dynamite if handled carelessly. We don't want the beginning of a serious conflict between the church and the state; interfaith conflict or intra faith tension.

We have enjoyed unique tolerance that Githu must NOT destabilize. For those supporting the current form of the proposed laws, you must consider beliefs of other members of the religious fraternity; do not be driven by your selfish interests.

Religious tolerance, advocated since the times of Emperor Constantine is key to a stable and peaceful nation.
