I refer to an article in the Kenya’s Daily Nation of Monday 1st
October 2012, by Emmanuel B Ngala titled, ‘Israel thinks nuclear is only safe
under its care.’ I bet to differ with his argument therein. It’s evident that
for decades, Israel has never used its nuclear weapons despite all the threats
directed to this nation from every angle.

if you look at the historical background of the Middle East crisis, you will
come to a conclusion that Israel is the victim not the culprit of security
threats in the region. Back in 1947, Palestinian authority refused the formation
of 2 states, one Israeli and the other Palestinian, claiming that 50-50

invasions followed. We saw Lebanon, Jordan, Syria Egypt doing acts of
aggression against the Jewish state, often doing so on behalf of the
Palestinians.
Now, Iran is working on its nuclear progamme and it’s under
UN sanctions due to the fact that the purpose of its nuclear technology is
questionable. President Ahmadinejad of Iranian has categorically said that
Israel should be obliterated from the surface of the earth. That’s a real
danger to a member of the United Nations, and who knows the development of such
a nuclear weapon by Iran could be targeted to achieving this objective of
wiping Israel from the surface of the earth?
I would wish to remind the world that the
question isn’t about owning a nuclear weapon but who owns that weapon. What if
the nuclear lands on terrorists groups? Iran can’t be trusted with nukes and
the world must not watch rogue states threatening the security of other states.
Israel has the right to defend itself, and the Jews have the right to exist as
a race just like any other human race in this planet.
